Everything went according to plan in Toowoomba where leader Flames (7-0) outleveled bottom-ranked Mountaineers (0-8) 93-68 on Friday. Flames made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Mountaineers turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. Forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) fired 21 points for the winners. New Zealand guard Micaela Cocks (174-86, college: Oregon) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Flames players scored in double figures. American swingman Donnaizha Fountain (183, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Kaila Gabriel added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Mountaineers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Flames keep a position of League leader. Loser Mountaineers still closes the standings with eight games lost. Flames will face Brisbane Spartans (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
