Very expected game in Hornsby where 6th ranked Crusaders (3-6) were defeated by first ranked Spireds (8-2) 79-67 on Saturday. Spireds forced 21 Crusaders turnovers. Strangely Crusaders outrebounded Spireds 42-29 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Rachel Maenpaa (185-84, college: Indiana St.) fired 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Sarah Graham (163-89) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Spireds players scored in double figures. Olivia Sheehan produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Jacinta Govind added 19 points respectively for lost side. Crusaders' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Spireds maintains first place in League with 8-2 record. Newly promoted Crusaders dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
