Everything went according to plan in Canberra where third ranked Tornadoes (7-5) won against 5th ranked Nationals (5-5) 88-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 28-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Nationals outrebounded Tornadoes 41-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alex Wilson (174-94) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Sarah Mcappion (175-90, college: Troy) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Tornadoes maintains third place in League with 7-5 record having just one point less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Nationals dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
