Regular Season Round 4: KIU Titans - JKL Dolphins 69-66

Ninth-ranked JKL Dolphins (1-5) gave a tough game to second ranked KIU Titans (6-1) in Kampala. KIU Titans managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. KIU Titans shot 21 for 38 from the free-throw line, while JKL Dolphins only scored three points from the stripe. KIU Titans forced 22 JKL Dolphins turnovers. JKL Dolphins were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by guard Micheal Bwanga who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Chris Omanye (183-94) supported him with 14 points and 4 steals. KIU Titans' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by international center Ivan Lumanyika (-92) did not help to save the game for JKL Dolphins. Forward Brian Namake (-90) added 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. KIU Titans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Betway Power. JKL Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. KIU Titans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. JKL Dolphins will play against Sharing Youth (#6) to get more than just one victory in their record.
