Important game to mention about took place in Maracay. Fifth ranked Cocodrilos (1-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Toros (4-6) 84-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toros. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) nailed 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. International guard Edwin Mijares (186-94) came up with 26 points and 6 assists and American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Toros in the defeat. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Cocodrilos left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Western Conference. Toros at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Cocodrilos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toros will play again on the road against Cocodrilos in Caracas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
