Regular Season Round 4: Vial Basket - CDE Esp. Talca 81-75

Vial Basket's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Espanol de Talca (1-3) 81-75 on Sunday. Vial Basket made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Vial Basket outrebounded Espanol de Talca 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Carlos San-Cristobal (-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Gerardo Melo (192-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Pablo Barraza (184-94) replied with 18 points and Juan Carrasco added 16 points in the effort for Espanol de Talca. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vial Basket (1-2) left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Pro. Loser Espanol de Talca dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Vial Basket will face higher ranked CAP Rancagua (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Espanol de Talca will play against the league's leader Aleman and hope to win that game.
