Undefeated leader Guaros delivered the eighth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Gaiteros (0-6) 112-69 in Barquisimeto. Guaros shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Gaiteros only scored four points from the stripe. Guaros forced 20 Gaiteros turnovers and outrebounded them 36-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Gaiteros' players. 24 personal fouls committed by Gaiteros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Skylar Spencer (208-94, college: San Diego St.) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Heldrin Guillent (180-98) supported him with 8 points and 12 assists. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by Abraham Ramos did not help to save the game for Gaiteros. Guard David Cedeno (191-83) added 21 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guaros (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in Western Conference with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Gaiteros at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Guaros will have a break next round. Gaiteros will play at home against Cocodrilos (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
