No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (16-16) beat at home 8th ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (14-19) 93-87 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Lobos UAD Mazatlan 43-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. American Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Jawan Davis (184-89, college: Claflin) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach Jesus Cordovez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) came up with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lobos UAD Mazatlan in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas moved-up to fifth place. Loser Lobos UAD Mazatlan keeps the eighth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Obregon. Ostioneros de Guaymas will again meet at home Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#9) in the next round. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round.
