Regular Season Round 34: Navolato - Los Mochis 87-97

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (22-12) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (14-20) 97-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Garra Canera de Navolato. Pioneros Los Mochis dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Garra Canera de Navolato's 46. They outrebounded Garra Canera de Navolato 49-33 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 18 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) scored 21 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mazatlan. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side still keeps top position with 12 games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis is looking forward to face higher ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against Aguilas Doradas de Durango and is hoping to win this game.
