Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Ordaz. First ranked Gigantes (7-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Panteras (4-2) 82-80 on Friday evening. Gigantes had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Panteras were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) who scored that evening 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) supported him with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Even 25 points by American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) did not help to save the game for Panteras. The former international forward Jhon Romero (199-85) added 20 points. Gigantes maintains first position with 7-3 record. Panteras at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Gigantes will play against league's second-placed Guaiqueries in Porlamar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play at home against Marinos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
