Very important is a road loss of second ranked Bucaneros (5-7) against fourth ranked Guaiqueries (5-5) on Friday night. Visiting Bucaneros were crushed by Guaiqueries in Porlamar 96-75. The best player for the winners was American-Jordanian guard Rasheim Wright (192-81, college: District of Col.) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican-Canadian forward Dwayne Smith (198-89, college: G.Washington, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Junior Martinez (200-92) added 16 points respectively. Five Guaiqueries and four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guaiqueries moved-up to second place. Bucaneros lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Guaiqueries will meet league's leader Gigantes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bucaneros will have a break next round.
