State League top team - Wanneroo (15-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Cougars (6-10) in Hamilton Hill 85-76. Wanneroo players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brian Sullivan (180-93, college: Davidson) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Wanneroo's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cougars. Five Wanneroo and four Cougars players scored in double figures. Wanneroo maintains first place in League with 15-2 record. Cougars at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Wanneroo's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Buccaneers in Wonthella and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cougars will play at home against Giants (#14) and hope to win that game.
