Regular Season Round 15: NGC Seahawks - Gladstone P. 110-115

Rather predictable result in Runaway Bay where thirteenth ranked Gladstone Port City Power (3-5) defeated bottom-ranked NGC Seahawks (0-8) 115-110 on Friday. Gladstone Port City Power made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Gladstone Port City Power outrebounded NGC Seahawks 44-32 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by NGC Seahawks' players. NGC Seahawks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Cirkook Riak (203-92, college: Lamar St.CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Taylor Young (193-90, college: Warner Pacific) helped adding 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American swingman Jerron Jamerson (193, college: Goshen) with 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard Cameron Goldfinch (198, college: Newman) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gladstone Port City Power moved-up to twelfth place in League. Newly promoted NGC Seahawks still closes the standings with eight games lost. Gladstone Port City Power will face higher ranked Cairns Marlins (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. NGC Seahawks will play against Mackay Meteors (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
