Bottom-ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan managed to get a fifteenth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Friday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon 98-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who scored 26 points and 9 assists. American forward Carl Hall (202-89, college: Wichita St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) produced 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international center Jose-Israel Gutierrez (206-93) added 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan and four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lobos UAD Mazatlan (15-20) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Guasave and Obregon. Lobos UAD Mazatlan is again looking forward to face Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#8) at home in the next round. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will have a break next round.
