The game in Guasave supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (19-16) played at the court of 8th ranked Frayles de Guasave (15-20). Tijuana Zonkeys smashed Frayles de Guasave 98-66 on Friday. Tijuana Zonkeys made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while Frayles de Guasave only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 40-25 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tijuana Zonkeys looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for center Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Forward Eric Frederick (203-88, college: Texas Wesleyan) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tijuana Zonkeys have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 19-16 record having four points less than leader Navolato, which they share with Culiacan. Frayles de Guasave lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 20 games lost. They share it with Mazatlan and Obregon. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frayles de Guasave will play again against Tijuana Zonkeys (#3) and hope to secure a win.
