Regular Season Round 15: Sunshine CP - Rockhampton 121-114

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Rockhampton Rockets' (4-4) road loss to fifth ranked Sunshine CP (5-4) 114-121 on Friday. Sunshine CP shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for Roy Booker (191-84, college: SE Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 assists. Guard CJ Massingale (191-82, college: Metro St.) helped adding 31 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Malcolm Bernard (198-94, college: Xavier) with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Ray Willis (198-89, college: N.C.Central, agency: HMS) scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Sunshine CP went down to sixth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Rockhampton Rockets dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Sunshine CP will face league's leader Sunshine CR in Sippy Downs in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rockhampton Rockets will play at home against Cairns Marlins (#4) and hope to win that game.
