There was a surprise result in Kalamunda where ninth ranked Suns (8-10) outleveled higher ranked Lightning (9-8) 116-89 on Saturday. Suns made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Suns outrebounded Lightning 52-36 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Suns made 9 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) helped adding 14 points and 13 assists. Four Suns players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) scored 28 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Suns maintains ninth place in League with 8-10 record. Loser Lightning dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Suns will face higher ranked Senators (#7) in Perth in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
