Regular Season Round 14: SW Slammers - Willetton T. 72-84

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Tigers (10-3) won against 8th ranked Slammers (5-8) in Bunbury 84-72 on Saturday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 32. They outrebounded Slammers 47-34 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Ashli Payne (183-95, college: E.Washington, agency: Gamble Sports Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard Leah Cotton (173-91, college: Minnesota) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Dutch center Charlotte van-Kleef (190-96) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Slammers. Four Tigers and five Slammers players scored in double figures. Slammers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Slammers keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Tigers will face Hawks (#10) in Floreat in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slammers will play at home against Eagles and hope to win that game.
