Regular Season Round 14: Toowoomba M. - Ipswich F. 56-105

Date: June 9, 2018
Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Force (6-0) outplayed bottom-ranked Mountaineers (0-9) in Toowoomba 105-56 on Saturday. Force dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mountaineers' 38 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while Mountaineers only scored six points from the stripe. Force forced 23 Mountaineers turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Mountaineers' players. Amanda Johnson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Rachel Mate contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Force players scored in double figures. American swingman Donnaizha Fountain (183, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Despena Dickerson (-96) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Mountaineers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Force moved-up to third place in League. Loser Mountaineers still closes the standings with nine games lost. Force will face league's second-placed Flames in Townsville in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
