There was a minor upset when higher ranked Cyclones (4-4) lost to tenth ranked Sunshine CR (4-4) in Sippy Downs 74-84 on Saturday. Sunshine CR outrebounded Cyclones 47-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Leah Scott (183-93, college: Marshall) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 23 rebounds and 6 assists. Carlie Smith contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. American guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) replied with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Teyla Evans (182-94) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cyclones. Sunshine CR moved-up to seventh place in League. Sunshine CR will face league's leader Sunshine CP in Cotton Tree in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cyclones will play at home against Dolphins (#11) and hope to win that game.
