Regular Season Round 6: Javon Phenoms - KCCA Leopards 52-72

Bottom-ranked Javon Ladies (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-52 loss to third ranked KCC Leopards (4-2) in on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Javon Ladies' 28. Christine Akinyi scored 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Joy Chemutai (-93) chipped in 10 points during the contest. Four KCC Leopards players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Kusaba Grace with 17 points and center Ruth Atuheirwe scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCC Leopards have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Javon Ladies still closes the standings with five games lost. KCC Leopards will meet at home Magic Stormers (#4) in the next round. Javon Ladies will play against UMU Ravens (#9) and hope to get finally their first victory.
