Regular Season Round 13: Cocodrilos - Toros 99-102

The most exciting game of round 13 in the LPB took place in Caracas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Cocodrilos (4-7) to fourth ranked Toros (4-9) 102-99 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. Toros forced 21 Cocodrilos turnovers. 31 personal fouls committed by Cocodrilos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Uruguayan guard Andres Dotti (185-93) fired 30 points and 5 assists for the winners. International forward Elder Gimenez (186-91) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Toros players scored in double figures. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) produced 31 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Toros maintains fourth place with 4-9 record. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. Toros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cocodrilos will play again on the road against Toros in Maracay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
