The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas' (18-18) road loss to fourth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (20-17) 94-98. Caballeros de Culiacan dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ostioneros de Guaymas' 38. It was a very good performance for American guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) answered with 21 points and 8 assists and naturalized American swingman PJ Reyes (196-88, college: Charleston) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Ostioneros de Guaymas. Five Caballeros de Culiacan and four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan moved-up to third place, which they share with Tijuana. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side keep the fifth position with 18 games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan's next round opponent will be again Ostioneros de Guaymas (#5) at home.
