Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (20-17) against seventh ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (17-20) on Tuesday night. Visiting Tijuana Zonkeys were defeated by Halcones de Ciudad Obregon in Ciudad Obregon 97-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tijuana Zonkeys' 46. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones de Ciudad Obregon made 8 blocks. American-Lebanese guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists for the winners. American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Karim Scott (196-88) produced 21 points and 4 assists and American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Durango.
