Regular Season Round 6: UCU Ladies - UMU Ravens 66-45

Local UCU Ladies (3-2) outscored 9th ranked UMU Ravens (1-5) 66-45 on Wednesday night. UCU Ladies dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to UMU Ravens' 26. UCU Ladies forced 19 UMU Ravens turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Rose Akon who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Rosine Micomyiza chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. UCU Ladies' coach felt very confident using 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Sharon Kirabo who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and Pauline Nabatanzi added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Magic Stormers. Newly promoted UMU Ravens keep the ninth position with five games lost. UCU Ladies will face Nkumba LM (#8) in the next round. UMU Ravens will play against Javon Ladies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
