There was no surprise when 9th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (16-22) were defeated at home by second ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (22-16) 80-74. Rayos de Hermosillo made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Leroy Davis (200-81, college: Georgia St.) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Luke Moyer (185-93, college: John Brown) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds by Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for Pioneros Los Mochis. American guard Nick Murphy (193-88, college: Jacksonville St.) added 16 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
