Regular Season Round 15: Hobart C. - Melbourne T. 68-89

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Tigers' (8-5) road victory over 5th ranked Hobart Chargers (5-7) 89-68 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Tigers's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-15 extending their advantage to 21 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hobart Chargers' 34. It was a great evening for naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Monique Conti (165-99) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Sharna Thompson scored 25 points. Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Hobart Chargers dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Tigers will face Diamond Valley Eagles (#5) in Greensborough in the next round. Hobart Chargers will play on the road against BA CoE in Canberra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
