Very expected game in Runaway Bay where bottom-ranked NGC Seahawks (0-9) were rolled over by first ranked Mackay Meteors (9-1) 110-79 on Friday. Mackay Meteors made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Mackay Meteors outrebounded NGC Seahawks 59-32 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. NGC Seahawks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Chris Cedar (188-88) fired 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Jalen Manumaleuga (180, college: Indianapolis) produced 23 points and 6 assists and American swingman Jerron Jamerson (193, college: Goshen) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Mackay Meteors and four NGC Seahawks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mackay Meteors maintains first position in League with 9-1 record. Newly promoted NGC Seahawks still closes the standings with nine games lost. Mackay Meteors will face Rollers (#10) in Gold Coast in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NGC Seahawks will play on the road against Brisbane Capitals (#11) and hope to get finally their first victory.
