Regular Season Round 15: NGC Seahawks - Mackay M. 51-71

There was an upset in Runaway Bay where higher ranked Seahawks (5-4) were outplayed by ninth ranked Meteorettes (5-5) 71-51 on Friday. Meteorettes forced 19 Seahawks turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Mia Loyd (180-94, college: N.Dakota) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Ruvanna Campbell (189-93, college: Ill.-Chicago) helped adding 4 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks. The best for the losing side was guard Aimee Durbidge (180, college: N.Idaho JC) with 9 points and 9 rebounds and American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Meteorettes maintains ninth place in League with 5-5 record. Newly promoted Seahawks dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Meteorettes will face Rollers (#13) in Gold Coast in the next round.
