Regular Season Round 15: Bendigo LB - Canberra C. II 81-67

There was no surprise in Bendigo where 6th ranked Nationals (5-7) were defeated by leader Lady Braves (11-0) 81-67 on Friday. The game without a history. Lady Braves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Lady Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) helped adding 22 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Brittni Montgomery (190-92, college: Cent.Florida) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lady Braves maintains first place in League with 11-0 record. Loser Nationals keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Lady Braves will face Lady Bandits (#7) in Albury in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nationals will play at home against Hobart Chargers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
