Not a big story in a game in Rockhampton where 11th ranked Dolphins (3-6) were defeated by eighth ranked Cyclones (5-4) 85-73 on Saturday. Cyclones forced 22 Dolphins turnovers. Dolphins were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. Christina Boag helped adding 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Cyclones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jade Kennedy (185-89, college: Wyoming) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cyclones maintains eighth place in League with 5-4 record. Loser Dolphins keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Cyclones will face Rollers (#13) in Gold Coast in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dolphins will play at home against Power and hope to win that game.
