Not a big story in a game in Greensborough where 7th ranked Lady Bandits (3-11) were rolled over by fifth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (7-7) 110-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Diamond Valley Eagles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lady Bandits to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. Diamond Valley Eagles shot 64.1 percent from the field. They also forced 21 Lady Bandits turnovers and outrebounded them 44-24 including a 37-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Diamond Valley Eagles shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Lady Bandits' players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). New Zealand swingman Chevannah Paalvast (180-91, college: Monmouth) helped adding 22 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Kristi Mokube (188-93, college: George Mason) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Emilee Harmon (188, college: Ohio St.) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Diamond Valley Eagles maintains fifth place in League with 7-7 record. Loser Lady Bandits keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will face higher ranked Tigers (#3) in Melbourne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lady Bandits will play at home against the league's leader Lady Braves (#1) and hope to win that game.
