Regular Season Round 15: Woodville W. - Southern T. 42-65

Date: June 16, 2018
Rather expected game in Flinders Park where 8th ranked Warriors (4-9) were crushed by sixth ranked Tigers (7-6) 65-42 on Saturday. Tigers held Warriors to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Tigers forced 20 Warriors turnovers and outrebounded them 58-35 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Warriors' players. It was a great evening for Demi Skinner (-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Denelle Fawcett helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Nyre Harris (173, college: San Jose St., agency: AgainHello) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import forward Miriam Zabinsky (175, college: Azusa Pacific) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Warriors keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Tigers will face Lions (#9) in Gawler in the next round. Warriors will play on the road against Eagles in Goodwood and hope to win that game.
