The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Lions' (3-10) home victory over bottom-ranked Panthers (0-13) 72-49 on Saturday. Lions forced 20 Panthers turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Shawnte' Goff (173-94, college: UTRGV) who led her team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jazmen Boone (173, college: William & Mary) helped adding 18 points and 19 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Danita Goodwin with 8 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and Haley Bunce (-91) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lions maintains ninth place in League with 3-10 record. Loser Panthers still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Lions will face higher ranked Tigers (#5) in Morphett Vale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panthers will play on the road against Flames (#3) in Marden and hope to get finally their first victory.
