Not a big story in a game in Hawthorn where 12th ranked Stingrays (1-12) were outplayed by fifth ranked Magic (9-5) 113-57 on Saturday. Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Stingrays' 24. Magic forced 22 Stingrays turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Nelson Kirksey (190-89, college: UMKC) fired 23 points and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Alex Bogart-King (200) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Aaron Lynch produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Magic moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Stingrays keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Magic will face Blackburn V. (#11) in Melbourne in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stingrays will play on the road against Devils in Werribee and hope to win that game.
