There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Sutherland Sharks (7-6) defeated at home 3rd ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (9-4) 80-75 on Saturday. Sutherland Sharks forced 20 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles turnovers. American guard Jeff Van-Dyke (188-95, college: Cal-San Diego) fired 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Lochlan Hutchison chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. Four Sutherland Sharks players scored in double figures. Sutherland Sharks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Steven White (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Sutherland Sharks maintains sixth position in League with 7-6 record. Loser Manly Warringah Sea Eagles dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Sutherland Sharks will face again higher ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#4) in Narrabeen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will play on the road against Panthers in Penrith and hope to win that game.
