The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked North Bears' (8-1) home victory over 5th ranked Comets (5-6) 77-52 on Sunday. North Bears forced 20 Comets turnovers and outrebounded them 50-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Comets' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international guard Renae Garlepp (177-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Kate Seebohm (170-91, college: California, PA) helped adding 10 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four North Bears players scored in double figures. North Bears' coach felt very confident using 10 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Chloe Morrissey with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Tatyanna Pogonza-Dumas scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. North Bears moved-up to third place in League. Loser Comets keep the fifth position with six games lost. North Bears will face Sharks (#4) in Sutherland in the next round.
