There was no surprise in Hamilton Hill where 14th ranked Giants (3-15) were edged by eleventh ranked Cougars (7-11) 103-102 on Sunday. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) fired 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) chipped in 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American swingman Jeylyn Sharpe (194-91, college: Rogers St.) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Brandon Holloway (183-93) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cougars maintains eleventh position in League with 7-11 record. Loser Giants keep the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Cougars will face higher ranked Suns (#9) in Kalamunda in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giants will play at home against Senators (#8) and hope to win that game.
