Regular Season Round 4: Wuhan - Jiangsu 111-85

Bottom-ranked Jiangsu (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 111-85 loss to eleventh ranked Wuhan (2-2) in on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Wuhan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu's 50. Wuhan had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Wuhan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Justin Bocot (193-88, college: S.Illinois) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward MingYang Gao (196-88) scored 25 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wuhan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Luoyang. Loser Jiangsu still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Fujian. Wuhan will meet at home higher ranked Hebei X. (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jiangsu will play against Hunan (#5) in Changsha and hopes to get finally their first victory.
