No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Cairns Marlins (6-4) smashed on the road 12th ranked Gladstone Port City Power (3-6) 111-85 on Sunday. Cairns Marlins dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gladstone Port City Power's 32. Cairns Marlins shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Gladstone Port City Power was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Christian Jurlina (196, college: Whitworth, agency: MKP Management) fired 29 points and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Anthony Fisher (187-94) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Cairns Marlins players scored in double figures. American guard Taylor Young (193-90, college: Warner Pacific) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and power forward Cirkook Riak (203-92, college: Lamar St.CC) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cairns Marlins moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Gladstone Port City Power keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Cairns Marlins will have a break next round.
