Regular Season Round 17: BA CoE - Hobart C. 92-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked BA CoE's (9-7) home victory over 4th placed Chargers (9-5) in Canberra 92-85 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 28-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BA CoE outrebounded Chargers 43-26 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Kyle Bowen (200-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Alex Ducas contributed with 16 points for the winners. BA CoE's coach Adam Caporn used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Craig Moller (203-94, agency: MKP Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Tre Nichols (180-89, college: Boise St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 28 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Chargers. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. BA CoE maintains third place in League with 9-7 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Chargers still keep top position with five games lost. BA CoE will face Sabres (#7) in Cheltenham in the next round. Chargers will play at home against Dandenong Rangers (#4) and hope to win that game.
