Regular Season Round 6: Auriblanco - Larranaga 68-90

Bottom-ranked Auriblanco (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-68 loss to eleventh ranked Larranaga (2-3) in Montevideo on Friday evening. American guard Dominique Shaw (193, college: William Penn) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Juan Viana (189-97) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Larranaga players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Brazilian forward Rodrigo Goncalves (203-87) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and forward Andres Jones (195-75) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Larranaga maintains eleventh position with 2-3 record. Loser Auriblanco still closes the standings with six games lost. Larranaga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.
