There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Henan (2-4) defeated at home higher ranked Wuhan (2-4) 101-93 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 31-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Henan's coach JianXin Li used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Henan moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Wuhan. Henan will face higher ranked Hunan (#7) in Changsha in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
