We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Woodville where 6th ranked Bearcats (7-7) were defeated by seventh ranked Mavericks (6-8) 79-69 on Saturday. Mavericks outrebounded Bearcats 48-34 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Carmen Tyson-Thomas (180-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Isabella Stratford chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Ieva Nagy (177-91, college: Troy) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and Jasmin Fejo added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mavericks maintains seventh position in League with 6-8 record. Loser Bearcats keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Mavericks will face league's second-placed Sabres in Pasadena in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
