Very expected game when 8th ranked Panthers (5-10) lost to fourth ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (11-4) in Penrith 81-90 on Saturday. Strangely Panthers outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 53-38 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Luke Cooper (183-84, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Bosnian forward Igor Bosnjak (194) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds and forward Sean Weekes (194) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Panthers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles moved-up to third place in League. Newly promoted Panthers keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will face Bankstown Bruins (#11) in Condell Park in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panthers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hills Hornets in Baulkham Hills and hope to win that game.
