There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Knox Raiders (10-6) defeated second-ranked Waverley Falcons (10-6) in Mount Waverley 81-73 on Saturday. Knox Raiders made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Forward Ryan Oirbans (208-92, college: Winnipeg) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Dylan Hare (193-93) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. The former international guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) answered with 24 points and 6 assists and center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Waverley Falcons. Knox Raiders moved-up to fourth place in League. Knox Raiders will face league's leader Ringwood Hawks in Heathmont in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Waverley Falcons will play on the road against Keilor T. (#10) in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
