Regular Season Round 7: Sergio Ceppi - CDU Catolica 73-62

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#4) and Universidad Catolica (#2). Sergio Ceppi (3-3) won against visiting Universidad Catolica (2-3) 73-62. It was a key game for the second position in Pro. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan guard Luis Merida (190-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Angelo Olivares (185-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Sergio Ceppi's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Gerardo Munoz (182-96) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and Vicente Damianovic Carrasco (-97) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Universidad Catolica. Sergio Ceppi moved-up to second place in Pro. Universidad Catolica at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Sergio Ceppi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Universidad Catolica's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Boston College.
