Rather predictable result in Dromana where fifth ranked Sharks (7-6) beat 8th ranked Boomers (3-10) 83-79 on Saturday. Sharks forced 22 Boomers turnovers. Strangely Boomers outrebounded Sharks 45-30 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Jazmin Shelley (174-0) fired 14 points, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winners. American guard Peyton Little (180-93, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and her fellow American import center Jasmine Hines (192-93, college: Michigan St.) added 26 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sharks maintains fifth position in League with 7-6 record. Loser Boomers dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Sharks will face Wildcats (#10) in Eltham in the next round where they are favorite. Boomers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Falcons in Mount Waverley and hope to win that game.
