We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (8-7) lost to seventh ranked Sabres (5-10) in Cheltenham 92-97 on Saturday. Sabres dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to NW Tasmania Thunder's 48. They outrebounded NW Tasmania Thunder 43-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward David Barlow (205-83, college: Metro St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Nigerian-American guard Anthony Odunsi (193-92, college: Houston Baptist, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) answered with 22 points and 4 assists and American forward Jeremiah Ingram (201-93, college: N.C.Central) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for NW Tasmania Thunder. Five Sabres and four NW Tasmania Thunder players scored in double figures. Sabres maintains seventh place in League with 5-10 record. Loser NW Tasmania Thunder keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Sabres will face Canberra Gunners (#8) on the road in the next round.
