Regular Season Round 7: Stadio Italiano - Quilicura 70-77

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Stadio Italiano (0-5) lost to third ranked Quilicura (2-2) in Santiago 70-77 on Saturday. Quilicura outrebounded Stadio Italiano 40-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international swingman Jose Campos (189-80) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Pedro Sands contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Quilicura players scored in double figures. Cristopher Castillo answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Salvadorean Jorge Cornejo (-88) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Stadio Italiano. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Quilicura maintains third place in Pro with 2-2 record having 2 victories less than leader CDU Concepcion. Loser Stadio Italiano still closes the standings with five games lost. Quilicura will face league's second-placed Manquehue in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stadio Italiano's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Brisas.
